Cut from the same cloth is a collaborative performance made by Alexis Lorraine Howard, Lindsey Bargar and myself. We set to collaborate on something as friends. We hit the thrift store and found 5 matching outfits. Immediately we knew this was our jumping off point. The three of us consider ourselves cut from the same cloth - we are authentic artists pursuing depth, relationship and connection. The performance consisted of each performer teasing out a small gesture of relationship: patting people on the back and “saying good job”, applauding people, high fiving people, shaking their hands and saying “nice to meet you” and lastly waving. Each person was instructed to find their shape, literally and then metaphorically in each group.
